OVERALL PERSONALITY
She is quiet but not shy, curios but not outwardly inquisitive. One might call her repressed but she is much like a robot, if you ask her the right questions, she will do her best to answer as clear and concise as she can.
When left alone, she only thinks of how she can be pleasing to her owner, so on the one hand her time is never wasted but on the other hand, she has no real grasp of free time and/or leisure.
She is also a very literal person, she follows instructions to the letter as it is given, so truly, if you tell her to jump she will ask how high and will not stop jumping until told otherwise. Conversations with her can be frustrating but they CAN happen. She is a very eloquent young lady when permitted to be.
She needs permission for EVERYTHING, if it is not given, she will ask and/or wonder towards asking. She lives solely to please and ensure the comfort of her owner. When confronted with other individuals of her stature, she becomes quiet but not based on being shy. Like a robot, she observes and quantifies understanding throughout.

The island was populated by female slaves, though their instructors were both male or female. This island raised these girls, usually orphaned or scrapped off the streets, in various disciplines but they would all be willing and learned blood donors to supernatural creatures or supernatural affiliated individuals that needed blood either for sustenance or their craft.
Tenyjah’s training was very individual. Since birth she was quarantined off from fraternizing with the other girls. Before she left the island, he would only entertain the company of her instructors and her ward. Because of this certain grade of seclusion, Tenyjahs blood is exceedingly rare in that her experience with the outside world is tempered and, she is a virgin in every sense of the word. She has been so bordered from even learning the slightest thing about sexuality that it was forbidden for her to eve learn how to dance. She has not even seen it done.
She has learned of supernatural individuals and certain such laws by way of instruction[kind of like home schooling]and this is the way she has learned of most things. She knows of other parts of the world but, she has not seen any of it if it was outside of the house that purchased her. Even transporting her was done by way of sedation and/or blindfold. All this is once again, to ensure the purity of her blood.
Furthermore she has been traded from hand to hand, master to master and none have TRULY tasted her in the way a vampire would. Most would want Tenyjah to keep her trained in their own specific wants, while still keeping her chaste, because some magic crafts become more powerful with how pure the blood is. And so, with this rare and known fact, most who bought Tenyjah had hopes to keep her until she died as her blood would have been liquid gold for those who wanted to use it.
Though she has been treated like a slave and undergone a myriad of punishments, all of them have not been harmful enough to mar or break her skin. Bruises and bumps yes, but cuts and gashes, no.
Since her blood is so rare, one could ask why she was passed on like a penny from hand to hand. Either she was passed on as an inheritance when her master died, or some went far and wide to pay for her by way of land and jewels. This encompasses the trade rate for her but, she has also been kidnapped a few times.
Her lot in life is never seen as a negative thing to her. She is very optimistic, sometimes to a fault but, again, this kind of slave life is the only life she has known so she doesn’t think it to be so bad.
How she became an acquisition of the Chevalerie family was through trade. She was being transported from Italy where she was kidnapped. Her destination is unknown but, her caravan was jumped, her keepers were killed and she escaped. Lucien out for an afternoon ride happened upon her when as he passed her, as soiled and tired as she looked, she adopted her stance of subservience, and bowed giving him considerable respect as he passed. When asked if she had a place to go, Lucien invited her to his families maison, taking her on as a guest for as long as she needed. She has no understanding of being elevated to the same status as anyone above her, and as such considers her stay to be that of her routine master/slave thing.
