Your ★ Beauty,
Appearance,
His preference for fashion is perhaps the most modern of the family (alongside Araziel), and Valeri usually dresses in the latest Shinjuku street fashions. On casual days he’ll be sporting B.P.N. and h.NAOTO (with a preference for the Frill line) t-shirts and jeans or school emblem-esque coordinates (Victorian-inspired schoolboy complete with newsboy cap and knee socks), and on more ‘dressy’ days, it’s Alice and the Pirates or a bit of Moitié elegance, with high-collared lace-trimmed blouses, ‘modernized’ culottes, and swallowtailed waistcoats and tailcoats. He has an extensive collection of OTK socks as well, to go with his favorite pair of ouji-esque rocking horse shoes.
His demeanor is notably timid, and he usually has his hands folded behind or in front of him; when he sits, his hands are folded neatly in his lap, and his posture is proper but not overly confident as if he’s trying to take up as little space as possible to divert attention elsewhere. He’d be content going unnoticed in the middle of a crowd.
For all of his cutesy looks, however, Valeri has a surprisingly deep, throaty voice that often offsets people since it doesn’t quite seem to match his face and disposition.[/ul]

OVERALL PERSONALITY
If one can get past Valeri’s shy exterior and honestly make friends with the guy, then one is bound to have Valeri as friends for life (possibly longer, considering his vampiric lifespan). He is very loyal and hardworking and will come to a friend’s aid when it is needed; if he is incapable of helping on his own, he will tap into his resources and find a solution, whether it be consulting his library of knowledge (both figurative and literal), or dragging a friend or family member over for assistance. He will go out of his way to assist those in need even if they’re not friends, as long as, of course, he feels they deserve to be helped. Basically, anyone’s okay, as long as they’re not exuding evil or schmucky vibes.
Valeri was a bit of a sheltered child, so he is fairly dependent. He can take care of himself of course, but he prefers not to act alone; when he has to work on his own, it’s usually for a short span of time as he hates being separated from the rest of his family. He is very gullible and absentminded and sometimes doesn’t get jokes the first time around, and as such he is prone to having pranks played on him quite frequently (often courtesy of Araziel, Gloria, and/or Edmond).
It’s difficult to make him angry; he’s more prone to dissolving into tears than to bursting out in fits of anger. The guy just has a big heart so … it’s not surprising.
He’s practically attached to and looks up to his half-brother Araziel; he didn’t meet him until he was some twenty years of age, and as he grew up without any siblings (his younger sister was lost when he was but a child), the ‘reunion’ with his half-brother was a joyful one, and they’ve been best buddies ever since. He has a great capacity for affection, and he’s also very close to his parents, especially his mother; while he is not blind to the failed relationship between his mother and father, they still look after one another with genuine affection. Background ★ Info,
History,
1900
× Born to Valentina d’Aoust and Lucien Vilette on August 9, 1900
× Grows up a sheltered child; stays inside and reads a lot
Valeri Ivon d’Aoust was born to Valentina d’Aoust and Lucien Vilette on August 9, 1900. Valentina and Lucien’s relationship at the time was a somewhat failed attempt to revive their lost engagement from another life, but despite the rocky relationship, they were both still determined to provide as ‘normal’ a family atmosphere for Valeri, and so in his younger years, Valeri grew up in a fairly comfortable environment at the family estate at Versailles with most everything he needed. Education was in no short supply, and aside from the general subjects tutored at home, Valeri was able to receive more specialized teaching in various things including painting and drawing from Camilla, music and musical theory from Lucien, the arcane arts from Valentina, hunting and riding from Edmond, languages from Jean, medicine from Devereux …
Jack of all trades, but ace of none? True to some extent, though even in his early years it was noticed that Valeri displayed admirable potential in his arcane studies, sometimes too much; one time he set the house’s library on fire, and another time the kitchens; these episodes only caused Valentina to further encourage his studies, much to Lucien’s dismay.
With these talents and with almost everything he needed provided for him, Valeri certainly had the potential to become a spoiled brat, and yes he most certainly was spoiled, but he never displayed any traits of self-entitlement; quite the opposite, he was a very thoughtful and intuitive child. During trips to the city he would stay close to his mother and father and observe with wide eyes everything around him; when trips were made with Camilla and Axelle, her daughter, Valeri and Axelle would stick together and Valeri would always buy Axelle petits-fours from the same street vendor.
Axelle, Camilla’s daughter only one year Valeri’s junior, was very close to Valeri and the two cousins grew up almost as siblings. They played together, studied together, went to one another’s rooms in the middle of the night if one thought they heard something scratching in his or her closet. Theirs was a very strong filial bond that not all siblings could claim they shared.
In the tail-end of what would be later called the Post-Impressionist movement, Valeri, Valentina, and Lucien would often follow Camilla about the Parisian art salons, observing, advertising, or generally just supporting Camilla and her work. Valeri ended up being chased from one of the minor salons after staring at a painting and then earnestly telling its creator that he thought that the colors were far too flat and that the man possibly needed practice. Valeri went on to suggest that Camilla be his teacher before he was promptly shooed away for sticking his ‘upper class nose into the working man’s art’.
(The man was Henri Rousseau).

× Voyage on the Titanic with Axelle, Camilla, Valentina, and Lucien
× Valentina and Valeri separated from Lucien, Camilla, and Axelle during sinking; reunite a month later but Axelle is never found
× Valeri forever afraid of boarding ships; Camilla traumatized
× Valeri follows Camilla around the art salons in Paris
× WWI: Move temporarily to Bordeaux
By the age of ten, Valeri was still making frequent trips to Paris with his parents, Camilla, and Axelle. He managed to drag his parents to the libraries and bookstores so that he could continue to satisfy his bookworm habits and further expand the collection at their house’s library. When at home and not reading, Valeri began to properly organize and catalog everything in their library; he knew its contents well enough by then to do so. His interest in digging up forgotten tidbits of information through the family archives would eventually become a great and lasting contribution to the family.
When Valeri was twelve, the family decided to take a little vacation aboard a ship whose launching had become much talk of the town. Arriving in Cherbourg, the family boarded the ship RMS Titanic and after one more stop, departed for New York. The days were spent in the luxurious first class, but Valeri and Axelle often wandered away together to waste the hours with people watching, standing over the railing and looking for fish, meeting other children (of all classes), and playing games between themselves and with their newfound friends.
On the night of the famous disaster, however, Axelle had wandered away from the suite and Lucien and Camilla were out about the ship searching for her.
