[/color]Though not overly muscular, Devin does take care to keep physically fit as part of his regime to remain as physically flawless as possible. He is tall with deep brown hair that is swept to the side and occasionally falls into his sea green eyes, though the style is short. Over the years he has acquired a few injuries that have left permanent marks and among these blemishes distinguishing features include a birth mark on his right tricep (a mark which he detest), a scar on his left foot from stepping on a nail when he was twelve, a lingering scar on his knee from school time roughhousing as a child, and a tattoo of the name ‘Rose’ on the back of his calf. Oddly enough, the tattoo is the only mark which Devin does not find irritating because he cannot remember the story or the woman behind it. Maybe there wasn't even a woman involved! [/color] What is it that draws people to Devin Monroe? Is it the way he puts people at ease with his dazzling smile and classic charm that seems to flow naturally through him? Is it the way he can work a crowd with his quick wit? Is it the way he seems to devote his whole attention entirely to the person speaking to him even if there are others around? Or perhaps it’s the exotic air about him, since he is so far from home.

Devin has been described numerous ways in his time: funny, sensitive, sexy, a ladies man, intelligent, and the list goes on. He is the type of person who would make an excellent friend: he is extremely loyal, kind, a good listener, and honest. He is a bright and ambitious man who worked hard in school and believed that a good education would help bring him much success in life. Of course, he was never a strict bookworm. Devin loves having a social life; he enjoys laughing, dancing, and meeting people whether it’s for networking purposes or simply having fun. He is extremely adaptable to situations and his witty banter and easy charm makes him a smash hit at almost any event.

Every man must have his flaws and Devin has quite a few. He’s attracted to people, drawn to them like a magnet, and women have proven to be a very big distraction in his life. Some day Devin wants to settle down and have a life of his own, but Mrs Right has not come along yet and no doubt he is partly to blame. None of his relationships have ever lasted and have ranged from a couple of weeks to a couple of years; most have fizzled out due to a growing lack of interest in one another or when it was time to take the next step, he could never bring himself to make the final commitment. His first and only engagement to date was to Eliza, a sweetheart he met at Yale. She left him for someone else and Devin has never been able to allow himself to trust it won’t happen again. Other relationships have also helped him put up shields against matrimony when it turned out that some women had simply wrapped him around their dainty fingers only to reveal later that they were more interested in his wealth. Therefore Devin tends to only trust him family completely, for even his closest friends do not know he is the nephew to Queen Elizabeth II.

The term vain seems to fit Devin quite well since his appearance both physically and how he presents himself is very important to him. He takes a lot of time ensuring his appearance is immaculate and his obsessive tendencies make sure of this (he once ironed a pair of socks and frets if his nails are not equally trimmed)! Devin believes that the better he looks the less there will be to judge. If people have nothing to judge they will be less curious about him and if they are not curious his background will be safe. For him, his vanity has a very good reason behind it, but there may be less to it than he is willing to admit. He is willing to fight for what he believes in, protect those he loves, and has an avid interest in sports, particularly rugby and football (soccer). He is a competitive person which is not always a good thing, especially since it can make him quite impatient, but the man does hate disappointing people.

History,

[/color] A woman who brought scandal to England’s royal family for her numerous affairs, Devin is the illegitimate son of the late Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon. Because he was born in 1975 it is believed that Devin’s father is Roddy Llewellyn with whom she was involved during this time. The extramarital affair was highly publicized and it was difficult for the Royal Family to keep Margaret’s pregnancy a secret. Nevertheless it was concealed and on March 3, 1975 Devin was born at Balmoral Castle. Though very much loved by his mother, the secret birth of her third child was not to be announced to the world. Margaret’s reputation had been under scrutiny for years and an illegitimate son would be a critical blow. Devin was given to a member of the Queen’s staff at Buckingham to raise and it was not until he was sixteen did he learn the truth about his identity.


It took some time for him to accept the reasons why he could not ‘exist’ as a member of the Royal Family and at first believed that they were ashamed of his birth. The adolescent was swiftly reassured that he was loved and appreciated; in the end that was all that mattered and public exclusion never became an issue. Growing up around the Royal Family, he grew close with his sister, Sarah and has always maintained a good relationship with his brother David. He also grew close with the queen and if asked he tells people his favourite relative is his “Aunt Liz.” Though he attended his sister’s wedding in 1994, he was not permitted to be at the bedside of Margaret when she died in 2002, having to bid his farewells before she was taken to the King Edward VII hospital. Unlike his siblings he does not have any titles attached to his name.


After completing his A-Levels, Devin left England at seventeen to pursue degrees in psychology and law at Yale University in the United States. It was during this time, that Devin became fully aware that he was a clairvoyant, though he had often had ‘dreams’ of meeting people as child that seemed far too real, especially since he could not wake up. The dreams came and went in his teenage years but in university, Devin could no longer deny that there was something unique about him the day he debated with the deceased author of one of his textbooks. Rumors link mediums back to Roddy Llewellyn’s family which is where Devin would have inherited his own abilities if Llewellyn was in fact his father.

Devoted to his studies, Devin obtained a Masters in psychology and finished graduate school for law after ten hard years of work. He jumped into legal practice immediately afterwards and earned an impressive reputation, providing him with opportunities to represent some of Hollywood’s elites and other high profile people. He was a success both in and out of the court system and his growing reputation exposed him to some of the most prestigious social circles. Though he had occasionally used his ability to contact spirits in cases, Devin did his best not to take advantage of his clairvoyance and by the age of thirty he was one of the most sought after lawyers and bachelors, known for his intelligence, quick-wit, class, silky accent, and dashing good looks. As a result of this delicious combination the eye-catching charmer could often be seen on the arms of celebrity and socialite members of the fairer sex. None of the women he was seen with ever developed into long term relationships, giving him a playboy label.

The fairytale could not last forever and scandal broke out when it was reported that Devin had been dating a woman on the jury of a case he was involved in. The rumors were false but did enough damage that a mistrial had to be declared and a new jury had to be selected. An increase of interest in the scandal led to inquiries on Devin’s very private life and while he was certain that the most that could be discovered was a brief engagement to his college sweetheart and that his connection to the monarchy could not be discovered, he decided to leave law practice until the heat had died down. Seeking refuge back home in England Devin had no immediate plans for the future and the Chiaroscuro discovered him when a member found him talking to King Henry VIII about this. Though he lacks some of the more powerful skills that a medium possesses, Devin has become quite adept at detecting and communicating with spirits. He now works as a psychologist and legal consultant for spirits and is a full-fledged member of Chiaroscuro.
