Your ★ Beauty,
Appearance,
Amelia loves to wear bright colours and favours pink, orange, yellow and purple. She dislikes wearing dresses, prefers having a pair of nice clunky boots on her feet, or a pair of sneakers if one needs to be quiet and/or do some sneaking, and her jewelry collection is quite limited. The only pieces of jewelry she wears is a watch with Mickey Mouse in the center and a pair of diamond stud earrings. She does own a pendant her mother gave her, but rarely takes it out. Her former love of shoe string collecting has her changing her laces on her boots quite often and it is here where she chooses to do her most accessorizing. Amelia prefers to be comfort and her tastes in style often reflect this.

OVERALL PERSONALITY
A positive attitude helped Amelia to cope with the extended absences of her parents before she was old enough to go travelling with them on their expeditions; she was constantly surrounded by family and this helped her develop an interest in her genealogical past. The continual flow of people in her life fostered a fear of abandonment however, and Amelia has never quite been able to cope being on her own in her adult life; she purposefully chooses paths to ensure that she always keeps some kind of company, including having a Jack Russell Terrier at home.
Amelia is a chatty person, easily distracted by random topics that pop into her head and having a conversation on one focused point rarely happens with her, unless she’s the one who started it; this random switching can often be quite annoying to those participating in discussions with her. Her vast array of interests and unique taste in fashion have led others to view her as a sort of oddball and her bubbly personality and playful nature is not always appreciated, particularly by the more serious types. Still, more often than not, Amelia can win people over with her laid back attitude and friendly charm.[/ul]
Background ★ Info,
History,
Her love of history extended to family history as well; her father was interested in genealogy and spent many years tracing their family tree. It was through him she first learned of Margaret Rochford (née Gray) and her family. What first drew her attention to Maggie’s family was not Maggie herself but her sister, Emily Vilette. The woman whom she was named for had a death date beside her name but her husband and all of her children, save one, had none beside theirs; these empty spaces had puzzled her father as well but no further information on them had ever been found. Amelia decided to solve the mystery of the family that had been wiped off her map and spent many years up until the present day doing her own research. The years have provided a few clues about her ancestors, though she has managed to pick up a few of her own artifacts along the way. Types of memorabilia included a doll of Maggie’s found at an auction, a dress of Emily’s in a museum, candle holders passed down over the years in her own family, some letters, and other little knick-knacks along the way. Stories of a music box belonging to Emily emerged but Amelia has never been able to find it. The prize in her collection however, would have to be Emily’s diary, an object crammed away in a secret compartment at the back of her great-grandmother’s armoire, discovered after the woman had passed away. This diary unlocked the secrets Amelia had been yearning to discover, for she now understood that the death dates were missing because the people without them were not yet dead!
It was difficult to comprehend at first, but Emily’s words made sense of all the strange answers she found on Lucien Vilette, minimal as they were. All she had known about Emily’s husband for certain before was that he had worked for the Grays from 1820-1821, and that he and Emily were married in December 1824; dead ends about a court musician who existed before Emily’s time had crept up, along with a few odd tidbits of a man matching a similar description throughout the years. All the information Amelia had thought was invaluable suddenly became valuable and she realized that this man was the same man, a man who might exist this very day. And so did his children. Her obsession took another turn and she started to look for Lucien, but the slow progress in this new quest led her only to more dead ends and she eventually set it aside, though has not given up entirely on her search.
At the age of thirteen, Amelia’s parents felt she was old enough to accompany them on their journeys and she was homeschooled until the age of sixteen when the family settled in Saint-Calais, enrolling their daughter in D’Artagnan High School. A site believed to be connected to the old abbey which is no longer in existence had been found outside the town, but the archaeology team abandoned the excavation project after a few short months. The official explanation for departure involved legal and monetary issues, but Amelia knew deep down that this was only a cover for the truth. Something had happened out there, something that her parents and their coworkers refused to speak about and no amount of pressing would get them to talk. Though the purpose for coming out to Saint-Calais had been unrewarding, Amelia’s parents stayed in the town so that Amelia could finish her schooling. High marks and scholarships enabled her to get into the University Saint Calais with no problems where she entered the Arts program, becoming a double major in History and Classics.
Though she achieved honours in both areas of study and went on to complete her MA in History, Professor Jim Lightley persuaded her not to pursue her education any further, instead offering her an opportunity to become a member of an organization known as the Sacred Archive. Though she had only taken one class in one semester with him, Professor Lightley had seen her potential to become a valuable member of this society and after learning about the organization, Amelia could hardly refuse. She was taken to see Reginald Fox, the Dean of the University and a Director of Knowledge (one of the highest ranking positions in the Sacred Archives hierarchy) where they spoke more about the organization and what type of role she would play. Upon an assurance of her commitment, dedication, and swearing to maintaining the secrets of the archives, Amelia was taken to the main library for her initiation where she became a Page.
The Sacred Archive introduced her to a world of knowledge that took her breath away; there was just so much to learn! There were things that existed in this world that she could not even imagine and for the first year she felt like a kid in a candy shop. Sacred Archive responsibilities aside, Amelia took a low paying job in D’Artagnan High School as the school librarian. The members of the Sacred Archive in Saint-Calais are a close knit group and over the three years that she worked there, Amelia saw Archive material in only one of the students that passed through her doors; she sent an email to Jim asking him to monitor the student’s progress as he went through university.
One joins the Sacred Archive because one is interested in the pursuit of knowledge and for this reason promotions are rare; one works for the collective, not for personal gain, but two and a half years of hard work and an excellent thesis on elemental magic made Amelia eligible for a promotion to Assistant to the Keeper. After receiving it she was allowed her first real taste of field work. At the end of her third year at D’Artagnan High, Amelia took a position at Calais’ Public Library as a librarian and it would be another five years before her abilities and contributions earned her the Archive title of Keeper. At thirty-six, Amelia has moved no higher through the Archive ranks, acquiring new skills and discovering new knowledge every day. Recently she has been promoted to Library Manager at Saint-Calais Public Library after the last one retired.
