Fawn's nut-brown tresses are thick and wavy and usually worn anywhere between chin- and shoulder-length. Rarely, if ever, are they arranged in any sort of calculated style, except for the occasional inclusion of a ribbon or barrette (she enjoys crafting her own accessories).
Fawn's fashion sense is eclectic, with a definite skew in the direction of Bohemian. She favors floral patterns in pastels and earth tones, and she doesn't shy away from mixing patterns such as stripes, plaids, argyles, florals, what have you. Tights, scarves, and hats of any variety are staples of her wardrobe, and her (usually chipping) nail polish is nearly always some unconventional color. She likes to make her own jewelry, which she also sells out of her store.

It has, however, impaired her in other ways. Fawn can be a little distant and unfocused at times, as, with one eye to the spiritual world, she sometimes has trouble paying attention to what's in front of her. As such she can come off as being dippy sometimes. Too, her awareness of the afterlife and its inhabitants provides her with a perspective that is different from most; she has what by most people's standards is a somewhat casual attitude toward death, which does nothing to alleviate the general perception of others that she is "strange."
Fawn is an idealist, in her own laid-back way. Hers is not a grandiose, Jesus-complex brand of chivalry that demands she go out and save the world; but she's kind and helpful, and she does what she can to make the world a better place in little ways, out of a general sense of goodwill toward others. She likes everyone she meets until given a reason not to, and may in fact be a little too trusting of strangers, expecting the best of everyone - a trait that, while endearing, doesn't always serve her well.
It should be mentioned that, purportedly, Fawn boasts some Native American ancestry - Iroquois on her mother's side, Wyandot on her father's - and, while her Native American roots are unconfirmed, Fawn, like her parents before her, embraces them enthusiastically. She has a keen interest in Native American culture and folklore, and has devoted no small amount of time to studying the spirituality and magic practices of her (alleged) indigenous forbears.

History,
Fawn was aware of her medium capabilities from an early age, and her mother, also a medium, took pains to train her properly in their use. Mary Lightley was a member of Chiaroscuro, so Fawn's acceptance into the order was pretty much a given. She was initiated at the age of eighteen, and ever since then has taken opportunities whenever possible to travel in service of the order, though for the most part she works locally, since she has to remain in town the better part of the year to manage the family store.
The store was always Mary's pet project. Mystery and Magic, a colorful storefront located on a downtown backstreet next to the local tattoo parlor, stocks everything from CDs and alternative clothing to grimoires and divination tools to incense, herbs, and stones. Fawn has been running the store on her own since her mother vanished mysteriously in 2004 while on Chiaroscuro business in Hungary.
Fawn and her older brother, Brook, attended D'Artagnan High School in the nineties, and played in the concert and marching bands, where they became well-acquainted with another local personality: Zhiqiang "Zak" Guan, bartender extraordinaire. (Fawn always had kind of a crush on Zak, in fact - though she never did get up the gumption to tell him...)
After graduating, Fawn began her work for Chiaroscuro while also attending the U of SC, first as an undeclared major, then switching to Elementary Ed. Upon earning her degree she was accepted into the NYC Teaching Fellows program, and began her work in an inner city classroom with a starry-eyed enthusiasm that quickly devolved into abject misery. Most of the children she taught were beyond help; the anger and violence among these poverty-ridden third graders shocked and saddened her, and Fawn, empathic creature that she was, could see nothing beyond the meaningless horror of their lives... not to mention the malevolent ghosts that followed them, and were - needless to say - none too welcoming to her. She therefore returned to Saint Calais after only one semester and moved back in with her parents - only months before her mother's disappearance.
As a local business owner born and raised in Saint Calais, and as the daughter of a U of SC professor, Fawn is fairly well known about town. She and her family have always been deemed odd by many of the locals, but then, odd is the new normal in Saint Calais, NY. Despite being rather... unique, Fawn is generally well-liked, and she is friendly enough with a number of the municipality's movers and shakers that she's actually not a bad person to know if you're trying to get something done.
Fawn has been known to volunteer in various capacities in the local arts community, including props work and other behind-the-scenes drudging for the local community theater. She'll even step into minor roles on occasion, as needed - though she's decidedly not a thespian...
