Leena had enjoyed her time with Lucien. It was true. Everything was different…perfect…but different. She found herself almost a little uncomfortable with the people that constantly surrounded her. She had found herself delighted to meet Valentina and various other house guests Lucien had gathered. She just hadn’t worked alongside a ‘family’ unit in so long she needed a break. It wouldn’t be as bad if it weren’t for the fact that the number was constantly growing. Not with the smartest of people either. The two new comers were a dim witted siren and a small Mexican vampire who seemed to be Azi’s Corazon. Which was fine, she was glad Azi found something that proved her previous thoughts wrong. She was just very different from the others. They all seemed content working in a bakery, smuggling frames, when she herself was starting to miss the traveling the assassins life. She wasn’t about to go running into Edmund’s arms; she wasn’t that desperate. She was just contemplating the past. Leena’s black boots echoed her steps through the alley as she made her way down to the marina. Maybe she just needed a break. Maybe it wasn’t all the guests at all perhaps, perhaps she was just too old. Souls grew even if the body didn’t and hers was more than just a little heavy these days.
She wore her normal black mini skirt with the long black boots, her halter top that revealed what needed to in the right circumstances. She crossed her arms, her eyes gazing over the water. The moonlight was hanging low over the water and Leena couldn’t have asked for an emptier place. She sometimes wished she had been killed instead of turned but her life would have been so completely empty. What would have became of Lucien and Camilla? She was being extremely selfish at the moment. She was tired. Everyone seemed to be finding the perfect other half, or picking up the hobby which lead to an infamous career. Even the past seemed to kick her knee in because past people all had made something of themselves. Lucien had offered her a chance to have what she thought she sought and yet she was still unhappy. Yet, she still couldn’t place a finger on it. It wasn’t that she was attached to the people in the past that had died. But they had died. For once, Leena started wondering what exactly could have gone differently if she had grown up normal. Her eyes raised back up to the moon, finding a seat on one of the crates nearest the sea.
”Leena, ven,” Edmund stated as he extended his hand to her. The brown eyes stared at it skeptical before extending the pale arm towards him. The man took her in his arms and leaned his chin on her head. He let a low sigh echo from his lips before pointing out across the sea. ”Things could be different, if you just stopped. If you stopped misbehaving I wouldn’t have to put up this show. Leena, mi Corazon, you understand correct? If you just stopped then I could show dem how wonderful you truly are. But you have to want it don’t you want to be happy? With me, amor, you could be.” Leena curled her lips not sure what to answer, she could feel his hand slowly reach up and pull the pin that was holding her hair up. The long raven hair falling down her back; his fingers trailed her skin before stopping below her shoulders. ”Wouldn’t you enjoy life by my side?”

Leena sat her knees in the boat. Her eyes quickly darted back to the shore. She could no longer make out the Guards screams. Christian breathing heavily before letting out a sharp cry; Leena dropped the oar finally inhaling turning to see the blood still pooling from his chest. Her eyes were tear stained as she quickly kneeled. The bodice of her dress collecting his blood as she pulled him against her chest; The mark from the stake still very evident. ”You said…you said mi amor, that we would sail away and never look back, but, but now I’m berry afraid you are leaving me behind,” Leena muttered as she felt Christian lean his head up. He pressed his lips against hers gently as he maintained his steady smirky grin. ”Leena, Leena, what makes you think I would ever leave you behind? I’m just tired, sail, sail until we can’t sail any longer. Let’s escape and then you will see I never left—“ Leena’s tears then filled the air as his breath stopped the uneasy heaving. She bit down on her lip as she sobbed the sounds of the guards sailing closer to them. She could hear the uneasy rowing but then it stopped. Her hands clambered against Christian’s chest as Tig pulled at Leena’s arms. Furr then grabbed her left hand yanking the ring from her finger. Tig sat with Leena in his arms as a canon sounded from the larger ship. Leena turned just in time to see the small row boat sink.

Leena sat with Lucien as Camilla watched out the door. Leena knew she couldn’t be seen with them or Edmund would kill them. Cami was sure to alarm them if something went wrong but it still didn’t make the goodbyes any better. Lucien had asked her to come with him but she knew they would never make it. Christian didn’t stand a chance and now she knew better then attempt to run away with someone. Leena had been foolish to even come say goodbye. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders, she would have to say goodbye again. It was clear she was never meant to be with people. Destined to continue in the world alone; The race had begun, Lucien was being sought out by the men under Tig who worked for Edmund. They wouldn’t rest until Lucien was found. The three went running towards the harbor and Leena knew this was the last time she was going to see the two she grew to love. Camilla had replaced Maggie from years ago and now she was leaving. Lucien the only person to have captured her heart without even trying besides Christian and now he was waltzing out of her life as well. Her fingers grasped Lucien’s as Camilla dragged Lucien aboard the large ship. She felt the tears slip from her eyes as she turned to leave just as Tig’s men showed their faces. They were safe. She let her hand linger for a moment as the ship continued to part the pier. ”I love you,” She whispered before turning and running down the alley as fast as the heeled boots would carry her. As long as she didn’t draw any attention to the ship they would be safe.
She then found Lucien again or more he had found her. He was the knight in shining armor even injuring himself in the process of protecting her. The first encounter was of course bitter because Leena had always hoped he’d return for her but he never did. Then he popped up out of nowhere in England of all places and was rescuing her. Sweeping her off her feet and…making her brush up on her medical skills. She dragged him back to her home where she was able to yank the stake from his chest almost exactly how Christian died years ago. Her medical skills hadn’t been used since the war and yet it was like cooking she knew exactly how and what to do rinsing the wound before she was able to spend the night in his arms. The next morning wasn’t too shabby either…
Leena wiped her eyes realizing she had actually been crying thinking about the past. But now the past had caught back up to her. Now it was the present. Something was bound to go wrong sooner than later. It was her life, anyone she got remotely close to or loved was either killed or chased away. She was never going to be free. Even when she wasn’t under Edmund’s arms she was still hunted by him. Was she foolish for agreeing to lodge with Lucien? Had they been watching all this time? She had grown fond of almost all of them by now. She couldn’t take it back either. Leena sat on her knees, leaning over looking at the pathetic reflection in the water. Maybe she was to leave, maybe she would return to work where she was at least a little bit safer where perhaps Lucien would still stand a chance. She couldn’t endanger them. They had their careers, their friendships, Azi had his bakery, she might ruin everything they had worked so hard for. Leena leaned back against the crate letting her legs fall in front of her, as the tears continued to fall. Maybe that was what meant to be. The first time Lucien had to leave but maybe this time, Leena was meant to flee. He had his family, his wife, his career she wouldn’t dare ruin all of that.
