”So, Sarah. Why don’t we start off with a bit about your parents?”
Well, I suppose that makes sense. When my mom was in high school she kind of had this illusion that she led the perfect life. She believed she had the perfect parents, the perfect boyfriend, you know the works. She even had dreams of going to Oxford University – It’s a big wig British School -- but one day my dad moved to her high school, and she kind of developed a crush on him. That might be all well and good, except she already had a boyfriend.
When her current boyfriend tried to pressure her into sex she said she wasn’t ready. This may also have been normal for a sixteen year old girl to do. But shortly after she turned the poor guy down, she shacked up with my dad. The only problem was that she was dating this other guy. Anyway long story short here, my mum didn’t tell my dad for a while and stayed with the other guy. Eventually shit hit the fan and everybody knew.
Mum told me she had toyed with the idea of adoption; she even had a family lined up. But when she held me in her arms, she couldn’t bear to let me go. Then my dad came in to see her and me, and he felt the same way. So I got to stay with my birth mum.
Now mum and dad never got together, aside from the one time, but they were still wonderful. I got to spend the weekends with dad, and the rest of the week with mum.
”Fair enough, so did either of your parents ever get married?”
No. My mum stayed single and works as a photographer at a little shop back home. My dad the same, but he owns a book store.
”Good good. Can you tell me a bit about your childhood?”
I could. Well I already told you that my parents never got together. So I spent the weekends with my dad and the rest of the week with mum. I grew up pretty happy, both my parents worked so hard to make sure I had the right things. They never enforced many rules, and they were both pretty easy going. I often got to do a lot of things that other kids didn’t. My mum always tells me that Is why I turned out the way I did. She told me it wasn’t a bad thing, but if they had been a bit stricter I would not be sleeping around like I am – they know about it, and they know I am being safe – but yeah. When I wanted to dye my hair funky colors the never stopped me, and I got most of my piercings done when I was fifteen.
Then I graduated from high school I wanted to move away from England for University. So I did, that's why I am here. Anyway it has been pretty hard. I miss my mum and dad pretty badly, and I know they miss me. But I am having the time of my life, and everything is perfect in my life. I think that about sums it up.
”Okay. Your childhood is out of the way. Can you tell me some things you are interested in?”
Well it can be rather tough to list things on request. But I will give it a go. I love chocolate and coffee is the only thing that keeps me going in a day. I must say that I love to stand out in a crowd. What is the point in being the same as everybody else? You only have one life, so live it to its fullest extent. I love ice cream, strawberry to be precise. I want to be a music teacher when I am done at school here. I love to see my mum and dad proud. When I am home, I love to watch this amazing programme called Sherlock. Uhmmm, I can’t think of what else to say here.
”I have heard you have, how you say, a reputation at school. Is this reputation true?"
Well, we are getting a bit personal now aren’t we! I guess you could say that is a real thing. I did mention it when I talked about my parents, but yes. I do enjoy sex. It is fun and a great stress reliever, if you catch my drift. I don't know what else you want me to say here.
”No, that is enough. I see here that there is a rumor about having relations with your teachers. Is this fact or fiction?”
I don’t know why this matters.
”Well, I will take that as a yes. I have heard some of your interests, now can you give me some of the things you dislike?”
If I find that I am with a professor I will sue you for falsifying information so fast you will not remember your journalism education. I hate answering stupid questions. I really dislike people who judge me – and other people – based on looks or reputation. I hate early mornings, and I hate how hard it is to have fun while also trying to get good grades.
”But your grades are pretty average. Do you wish they were better?”
No. If I wanted them to be better, I would have to give up time with my friends, give up time having fun. Naw, life is far too short to not have any fun.
”I see. That was my last question. Thank you for your time.”
Sure, don't mention it.
