Leena sat braiding Nadia’s hair as Peyton filed her nails. ”Dis one, how did you ever get dis one?” Leena asked after finishing the left side of the braid. She carefully threaded a ribbon down the middle of the fishtail before smoothing down the curls. ”She needed help, she’s not that bad,” Peyton was standing balancing a finger nail file on her nose when she ran into the side of the bed tripping as the finger nail file went flying. ”Oh my god! Like now bacteria will get on it and get fungus under my nails!” Nadia cringed as Leena shook her head back and forth pulling a little tighter on her braid as Nadia laughed nervously. ”Yo no se,” Leena finished raking through her hair before placing the braid over Nadia’s shoulder. ”Fin, how do you like it?” Nadia stood up turning and examining herself in mirror. She smiled turning and hugging Leena before nodding. ”Perfect! It is fantastic! Where did you learn to braid so beautifully?” Nadia asked sitting staring up and looking to Leena. ”Ah mi madre she was a how do you say, I suppose a maid for a very wealthy family, she spent hours braiding Magdelena’s hair for her. She then would also braid mine. I guess I grew older and remember what she taught me it became soothing. I didn’t have my mother for very long but she taught me more then she could have ever imagined,” Nadia nodded staring down at the rosary hanging from her wrist before looking up to Leena. ”Do you still believe…Leena? I mean, with everything that has happened,” ”I say mi amor that things happen, bad and de good. If there is a person making it happen good for dem, if not, den well I am grateful for everything I have.
Nadia pulled the rosary from her wrist nodding setting it on the nightstand. Nadia turned leaning back on her bed as she watched Peyton running back into the hallway yelling about a missing shoe of some sort. Leena rolled her eyes before tossing Nadia her pillow. ”One day Luce will find out dat annoying food should be locked away,” Nadia chuckled with Leena as Leena walked towards the door, pulling it closed before peaking her head in. ”Buenos Noches Nadia, let no hunters come to get chu,” Leena smiled before closing the door. It had been years since Nadia had remembered the tale of the hunters. She wasn’t exactly familiar with the details. She turned on her side the dark blue lacey nightgown hugging her waist. As she turned once more. Great. Now she wasn’t going to be able to sleep. If she remembered correctly the Hunter prayed on virgins…which meant Leena knew…but that was beside the point. The hunter made it a point to find those that slept with the windows open and waited until the young girls were asleep and then—Nadia froze as she heard scratching. She wasn’t quite sure what it was but it was enough to make her sit up in bed. ”Hola?” Nadia asked staring into the darkness. It couldn’t be a hunter. She was older now and ghost stories didn’t scare her. She should be past this phase she was a successful business woman and lived on her own or well with Peyton for years. She shouldn’t need anything—the scratching and now a footstep sounded. Nadia turned towards her window noticing the drapes flapping gently with the wind. Nadia quickly grabbed her rosary pulling it on her wrist silently mumbling to it as another footstep sounded. Nadia sat up this time slipping out of her bed and walking silently towards the window slamming it shut. She leaned on her tip toes and latched it before running back to her bed. She stared in the direction of the noise but nothing occurred. Nadia was a vampire how did things that bumped in the night scare her? She was far more terrifying than any boogie monster or Lerona these days. She pulled her covers back up to her face when she heard a footstep from the other side of the room. ”Who…is der?” Nadia asked before carefully leaning over to the nightstand before flipping on the small switch. She paused as she noticed the shadows of a man sitting in the corner. At the same moment he flipped off the switch against the wall that darkened the lamp Nadia was next to. ”MADRE MARIA A HUNTER!’ Nadia screamed as she scrambled out of bed and ran towards the door yanking it open. Peyton’s door was already open so she continued to run straight to Azi’s room. She yanked his door open and slowly clambered into his bed, pushing his arm. ”Azi, AZI! De hunter, de hunter, or some creepeh man was sitting in mi room!” Nadia breathed as she continued to move his arm. She heard footsteps once again as she quickly snuggled into his arm. ”He’s coming to get us!”

It had been a good day despite the strange occurrences of the past twenty four hours. Luckily Travis and his buddies were already plenty out of mind - not that the Chevalerie was about to let its guard down, but hey, one step at a time - and Nadia and Peyton were getting introduced to the ... er ... chemistry of the house. It took a while to understand how it worked, much less to get used to it.
At any rate, after a successful day at the cafe and a bit of walking around downtown with Nadia, she and Araziel had returned to Rosethorn to wind down for the evening. It seemed Peyton was already well-adjusted - as to how long she would last, Araziel had no idea, but he tried not to think about that since she was sort of ... attached to Nadia.
Araziel didn't realize how exhausted he was, either, until he had actually gotten into pajamas and gone to bed. The moment he hit the sheets, he was out cold.
That was, of course, until about half an hour later, when an almighty crash jolted him out of his sleep. Flailing about uselessly, he found himself tangled in sheets and nearly rolled right off of the bed, until he realized someone had crawled into bed with him. Thinking it was one of the poms, he twisted around, blinking groggily.
"What? Wha - what is it ... Chocolat ? C'est pas grave, c'est juste - oh, Nadia, it's ... hunter ... what?" he sputtered stupidly, rubbing his eyes and trying to sit up, which was more than difficult since it seemed he'd properly tangled himself up in the bedclothes.
His brain finally got a grip on what was going on, though. Nadia, panicking, something about a hunter in her room, mmf ... warm, snuggly, fuzzy Nadia was saying something about ... about ...
"Oh it's just Dev," Araziel mumbled sleepily, now that the initial rush of adrenaline had passed, and he sank right back into bed again, though this time with Nadia attached to his side. It was ... hm, that was nice, reminded him of fond memories of San Francisco, and that cramped little pallet with Panny.
"You'll get used to him," he promised in the same half-asleep mumble, as he absentmindedly nuzzled the crown of her head with his nose.

Nadia wasn’t quite sure what a Dev is but the once alarmed Azi was no longer alarmed. She sighed quietly still staring out the door. Well she sure wasn’t about to go back into her room. Why did Azi have to be taken in by rich folk? She would have been far more comfortable in a room with Peyton and Azi even the Latina Leena. She hated being by herself. She supposed it was from how she grew up in the tents in close quarters straight to Carlo. It was why even though she was rich enough to buy a large apartment with two separate rooms she chose to share one large room with Peyton. Peyton’s snoring did keep her up but she preferred the snoring to silence. At least snoring meant someone else was there. Nadia stared up at Azi as he claimed she would get used to this Dev character. ”But—I don’t want to,” Nadia whispered as she watched a shadow pass the hall. She cowered under the blankets still clung to his side. That’s when he began nuzzling the top of her head. It was like a slow off-switch. Nadia felt her eyes get heavy as she realized if Azi claimed this Dev person she could only try and trust him.
--
Peyton had attempted to seduce the random man that showed up in her bedroom. She at first glance thought it was Luce and then was wronged the moment he didn’t exactly react the same way that Luce had. She quietly got up and waltzed across the hall to Nadia’s room sulking the whole way wondering what was wrong with her charms. She was constantly batting away grown men, what made this one different? Even if it wasn’t Luce, he still should have accepted her invitation it was just plain rude. Peyton was wearing her nighty which consisted of more straps then fabric as she opened the door and didn’t see Nadia. She then turned noticing the door down the hall opened enough so the light was trickling in. Was it possible that Nadia had run to Azi’s room? This was a whole new side of her boss. She went from no partners in years to sleepovers? Not fair. Peyton sped her steps up as she pushed the door open a little bit. She crossed her arms over her chest before slowly sneaking in the room.
She slowly made her way to the side of the bed. Her eyes widening as she saw Nadia tucked against Azi. Well that wasn’t fair. Luce apparently had a wife and many other people to keep his bed warm. Azi stole her Nadia, and some random man opted to not be her partner? That wasn’t about to do. She felt a small fit of jealousy strike over her emotions as she decided to intervene. Peyton pulled the end of the covers over her head as she made her way through the various sets of legs and the random bump of the dog. The bed was crowded but Peyton was being left out. And Peyton.was.never.left.out. Peyton popped her head in between Nadia and Aazi’s head turning looking between both of them before smirking.
Nadia twitched as she felt something towards her feet. She opened an eye seeing Azi before closing her eyes once more. That was when she felt the covers shift. She scrunched her nose once more as she opened an eye. Perhaps she hadn’t slept with another pup since San Francisco. She closed her eye once again just as she felt something hit her stomach. Both eyes shot open as the blanket lifted and out popped Peyton. Nadia let a small scream out as she popped up her arms falling from Azi as she realized it was just Peyton. ”Really!? Nadia inhaled sharply rubbing the back of her head that she had rammed into the headboard. ”I was alone, Nadia do you think I’m beautiful,” Nadia glared before rolling her eyes patting Peytons head before sighing. ”Yes,” She murmured. Peyton smiled before her thoughts drifted to Dev. Nadia shook her head staring back to Azi as her stare turned into a glare back to Peyton. So much for old times. There was no Peyton back then. Even Panny let them cuddle back then without interruptions. Nadia sighed turning on her side away from Peyton and Azi, as Peyton slowly intertwined one arm around Nadia’s arm and the other around Azi, taking Nadia’s place resting her head against Azi. Better.
